Energy is something which neither can be created nor be destroyed. The only thing is that its form can be changed from one form to another.
There are several sources of energy which can be used to convert it into electrical power. These sources of energy are either renewable or non-renewable resource of energy.
For the generation of electric power, some of the renewable resources of energy include:
- Solar Energy
- Wind Energy
- Tidal Energy
- Hydro Energy
- Geothermal Energy
Non-renewable resources of energy constitute the involvement of fossil fuels. It can be classified as-
- Coal
- Gasoline
- Diesel
- Natural Gas
- Nuclear
These sources are limited in its quantity. Thus, the present system of energy generation is shifting towards the renewable resources of energy so that any depletion in the quantity of fossil fuels cannot produce any harm to the society.
