Power transmission in India is done in dual formats. There are overhead as well as underground mode to transfer the power with help of proper power lines.
In case of overhead system, it can be seen that they are more prone to facing problems in regards to any natural calamity or problem induced by human activity. Given a populous country as India, it is better to have underground system.
Though cost rates are high in case of such systems, however it helps in remaining free from any natural hazard or human induced problems. However, for distribution into large areas, these underground cable format is used.
